Apres Skitastrophe???

Teton Village has grown quite significantly over the years, the Apres ski scene however, has left much to be desired. I have even heard term “apres-don’t”. On the weekends the lack of seating or even standing room, at times, is overwhelming enough to drive many locals out of the village and back home. I would imagine that quite a few visitors have just headed to the local liquor store, then retreated to their rooms or the hotel/condo’s pool and hot tub. There is some great food and fun to be had, you just need to get off of the hill by 2:30-3pm to score a good seat at your desired location. Many people can often be seen trolling the village looking for a place to sit and unwind after 4pm.

Weekdays during non-holiday times generally leaves folks with the ability to go where they desire. You may sometimes find that some places are virtual ghost towns during off peak periods. It is certainly an odd mix in the Village.

The Bodega can be a good call. Providing a laid back environment, with some delicious brats. There is a little space indoors, more tables and seating are available just outside. There is some great Southern exposure so you can soak in some afternoon rays.

Teton Thai is a little slice of Thai heaven. The food is amazing! Off of the beaten path a bit, they are located by the Ranch Lot, a shuttle goes back and forth most hours if you do not feel like making the walk.

King Sushi is my favorite “get out of Dodge” move. Jump on the bus or into your car and head straight to town. Get a nice deal on some drinks and sushi at one of the best places in town. If you get off of the hill before 4pm, grab a “tall boy” and soak up some rays along the Village Commons then head to town a little after 4pm. They are located just off of the town square.

The Mangy Moose Saloon is the traditional hotspot. Being written up in a number of ski magazines as the place to be. The Moose isn’t quite as wild as it used to be, but it is certainly a place to mix with the locals and “out of towners.”  There is often live music and a great take to take in some afternoon sun.

The Spur located in Teton Mountain Lodge is a local go to. The Spur gets going pretty good on the weekends. They have a great drink selection, yummy food and an inviting atmosphere.

Osteria inside of Hotel Terra can be a great place to slip into. Often overlooked, they have a quaint bar with decent
