Fall Arts Festival 2019

September 4 thru September 15, 2019

The Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival has become one of the most widely recognized art events the Rockies. Each Fall thousands of art enthusiasts descend upon Jackson for this event. The 2019 Festival is scheduled to take place September 5th thru the 16th this year. The combination of art, music, and cuisine can overwhelm the senses.

The featured artists this year are Kathryn Mapes Turner and John Simms.

Don’t miss out on this extravaganza! There are a number of events occurring throughout this 11 day period. Local galleries will have featured artists in-house throughout the festival. The Fall Arts Festival has grown into quite an event over the years. The complete 2019 Fall Arts Festival Program is online!

Wednesday the 6thh the festival kicks off with the Western Design Conference Gala Event: Fashion and Jewelry Show.

Friday the 6th don’t miss the Palates and Paletes Gallery Walk, a local favorite. Palates and Palettes pairs local restaurants and caterers with galleries for an incredible social evening of fine cuisine, art and wine right downtown. A gallery walk  like no other, downtown truly comes alive.

Sunday the 9th will feature the Taste of the Tetons. Valley chefs, restaurants, and caterers put their best culinary work on display for sampling. Each taste ticket is $1. Tastes generally range from two to four tickets. In addition to the open-air tasting fair, participants will enjoy the Annual Takin’ It to the Streets, a juried art fair featuring 40 local artists, and the Rotary Supper Club’s Wine Tasting and Silent Auction! Also on the 10th is the Takin’ it to the Streets event featuring 40 local artists.

Saturday the 14th the Quick Draw competition and auction is also quite popular, celebrating its 21st year as part of the annual Fall Arts Festival. The “Quick Draw” features nationally, regionally, and locally recognized artists who will demonstrate their skills at this unique alfresco event. One-of a-kind artwork will be auctioned off following the ninety minute creative process where spectators will watch artists paint and sculpt and create before your eyes. I truly enjoy this event, don’t miss out on this opportunity!

Sunday the 15th enjoy Art Brunch Gallery Walk brunch and festive beverages at this closing-day celebration of the Fall Arts Festival! Brunch, Bloody Marys and spectacular art.

There is certainly no shortage of things to do while the Fall Arts Festival is in town!

Alive @ Five

Alive @ Five occurs on the Teton Village Commons and is a free program. An all ages event. This summer series provides both an educational and entertaining element to evening in Teton Village. Programs run from 5-5:45pm throughout the summer. The Village Commons area is just around the corner from the Aerial Tram and Mangy Moose.

Tuesdays-“Raptors” is an engaging program. This interactive educational presentation on the wildlife and ecology of Jackson Hole. This is an excellent way to further your knowledge of the area while exploring the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.

Wednesdays-“Winged Wednesdays” with the Teton Raptor Center. Come see live hawks, falcons, eagles, and owls. Learn about unique adaptations that make them the unparalleled hunters of the sky. See birds of prey at arm’s length and flying freely overhead.

Thursday-“Wild Things of Wyoming” looks at Wyoming specific species. An interactive and engaging experience. Learn more about the animals that make their home in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.

A pre-dinner program to take advantage of if you are in the area. Teton Village continues to grow and provide a dynamic vacation destination. The entire family can entertain themselves is a quaint village atmosphere with plenty to do all day long. If you are not staying in the village, make the trip out and explore the area. There are also a number of free concerts in a series called “Concerts on the Commons,” which occur on Sunday Evenings.

 

Jackson Hole Shootout

The Jackson Hole Shoot Out Gang is once again hitting the streets for its Summer run. The Shootout goes off Monday thru Saturday at 6pm on the North East corner of the Town Square. Great entertainment for the entire family.

Looking for a fun and unique event for your family or group while in town? Wyoming Stargazing offers year-round stargazing programs at your convenience. Let us come to your private residence or bring you to one of the premiere stargazing locations in Grand Teton National Park Google Maps. We’ll set up one of our gigantic telescopes and entertain you and your guests by showing you all that the fantastic night skies of Jackson Hole have to offer: stars, planets, globular clusters, nebulae, and galaxies! We’ll also have plenty of iPads ready with the Star Walk application on them so you can continue exploring the heavens while your friends and family are entranced through the telescopes.

Astronomy educators will use one of a gigantic Dobsonian telescopes to show you planets, stars, planetary nebulae, galaxies, and more!

Explore the heavens while others are looking through the telescopes via the Star Walk application. Throughout the night the astronomy educators will tell you everything you want to know about the objects you are viewing. They can additionally can answer all your other questions about astronomy. Anderson East with opening act: Canyon Kids

The JacksonHoleLive! concert series continues to provide quality entertainment to the community. Throughout the summer, live music is available at the Snow King Ballpark. The ballpark is located at the base of Snow King mountain. This all-ages evening concert series is a welcome addition to the music scene in Jackson. Coming to fruition after years of anticipation, hope, and hard work this has finally happened. Shows generally wrap up around dusk, and provide a welcome social event for visitors and locals. Dogs are not allowed on the ball field. A five block walk from the town square and convenient to the S.T.A.R.T. bus, makes it easy to get back and forth from the show. Title sponsor is the Snake River Brewery.

There are a number of local food vendors available with dishes that delight. There is a mix of beverages for all ages, ice cream and shaved ice. Don’t forget the lawn chair or blanket for lounging. A number of local acts will be opening for these bands throughout the Summer.

Bring the whole family out as this is an all-ages event. Please try to utilize public transportation or bicycles. Take advantage of Valet Parking for your bicycle, via Friends of Pathways. Come early and enjoy the community atmosphere. There is a large children’s play area, featuring a number of activities to keep them entertained.

Jackson Hole Opening Day 2017

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is opening on November 24th. The resort has been working hard to get it done! We have had some great early season snowfall.

Late October and early November have seen some great storm cycles. At elevation there is plenty of snow. The backcountry has been providing nice turns and Grand Targhee Resort opened last weekend.

With cold temperature the mountain resort was also able to blow a decent amount of snow to supplement the natural snowfall.Recent warmer days in the valley have halted snowmaking for now. Snow King Mountain should be able to come on line the next time the temperatures dip and they are bale to complete their snowmaking.

Free Public Planetarium Programs

Throughout the winter, Wyoming Stargazing will be offering indoor virtual tours of the solar system and the Milky Way Galaxy. Inside the inflatable planetarium, your hosts explain why the stars shine, why they seem to move across the sky, why the constellations change throughout the year and why the arms of the Milky Way Galaxy appear the way they do above our heads. You’ll have the opportunity to ask all the burning questions you’ve ever had about the Universe. These hour-long events will consist of three consecutive 20-minute programs inside the inflatable planetarium from. Participants are welcome to show up anytime during the programs.

Concerts on the Commons 2017

Concerts on the Commons in Teton Village on Sunday evenings throughout the summer have developed into quite the night. Kicking off at 5pm and generally wrapping up around 9pm. The “Commons” area in Teton Village serves as an intimate outdoor concert venue at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. The family friendly nature lends itself to a fun night out for the whole crew. There are a number of food and beverage options available. Many folks will make a picnic out of the event. Bring a blanket, stretch out on the lawn, and enjoy the show.

Jackson Hole Rendevous 2017

March 17th thru 20th, 2017

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort will be celebrating the season with a weekend of events with the Jackson Hole Rendevous Fest. Started over 10 years ago, this event has slowly gained momentum and now encompasses an entire weekend. Look for more to be added. Fireworks will follow the concerts.

Zac Brown Band will once again grace the stage in Teton Village on Saturday night. Crowd size estimates are in the area of 15-20,000 people, look out! It will be a busy weekend in town. Utilize public transportation and taxi services, the police will be out in force. Use your head, be wise and alert, stay out of trouble and don’t do anything stupid!
