Saturday mornings on the Town Square June 22 thru September 23, 2019

The Jackson Hole Farmers Market occurs each Saturday morning on the Town Square from July thru September for the Summer season. The market runs from 8am to 12pm. Not only are there fruits and veggies, but baked goods, canned good and more. The community and visitors to the area have embraced the Farmers Market since it kicked off in the Summer of 2000. Attendance has steadily grown each year as the Farmer’s Market has become more diversified and now offers a larger number of vendors.

Raised in a family with a large garden, I was exposed to fresh produce at an early age. Flavor is the best part. Local produce tends take on the characteristics of its environment. High elevation, frost resistant crops that are widely grown in the area possess a fabulous crispness and taste.

The growing trend of Farmers Markets across the country has helped to nurture awareness of healthy eating, buying locally and getting to know your neighbors. The Hole Concierge strongly endorses increased consumption of organic foods, the localization of production and its inherent benefits. Farmers Markets provide healthy locally grown and produced products which in turn assists in creating sustainability within local economies. A number of small organic farms have cropped up in the area over the last few years creating jobs and reducing commuter traffic in the area.

Featured each week is a different chef, musician or group, and a non-profit. Vendors at the market donate 10% of their gross sales to the non-profit of the week. Over the past ten plus years the market has donated over $200,000 to local non-profit organizations. There are games for the kids and other features of the market. Hope to see you down on the Square.

Wednesday Evenings

The Jackson Hole People’s Market occurs on Wednesday evenings from 4pm to 7pm.  Running from May 29 thru September 18, 2019. The market occurs at the Phil Baux Park at the base of Snow King Mountain. The growth of the market has been enjoyable and a pleasure to watch. The market’s popularity simply reinforces the fact that Americans are finally getting back in touch with local produce.

The shift in awareness of healthy, locally produced produce and its positive effect on local economies is great to see. The new location at the base of Snow King allows great access for East Jacksonites. It is also located close to the rodeo grounds for those looking for a pre-rodeo fix.

There is generally some music and the Phil Baux Park has a giant jungle gym, 2 large bouldering features, and a few covered picnic areas right at the base of Snow King Mountain. There is a very relaxed mid-week atmosphere that the market seems to exude.

Do not miss out on the mid-week mixer at the base of the King!

Pearl St. Market

The Pearl St. Market is a local favorite. Filling the void for a downtown market and offering deli, meat & fish, veggies, desserts, bakery items, prepared foods and more. On the corner of Pearl and Cache St., a block South of the Town Square (toward the Snow King ski area).

Pearl St. Market’s philosophy is a simple one: offer the highest-quality, freshest, and most cutting-edge products that we can find in every category. This way you can rest assured knowing that as you bite into that new cheese from a small Italian mountain farm or serve up a Jackson Hole raised Mead Ranch Ribeye

The wide array of high quality meat,  fish and baked goods are what draw me there. The sandwiches are delicious, my favorite is the Hot Pastrami.
